Artworks - Alison Orchard
Alison Orchard is widely known for her atmospheric paintings, particularly her seascapes and landscapes, where there is usually a strong sense of light and space. She is a strong believer in drawing, loves painting direct from the landscape and enjoys developing her work and exploring new techniques in her Surrey-based studio.
She paints primarily in oil, acrylic and mixed media with expressive mark-making, rich colour and generous palette-knifed paint. She attended St Ives School of Art as a teenager and went onto Epsom School of Art & Design (Foundation Diploma) and Harrow College, University of Westminster (B.A. hons).
Alison enjoyed a successful career as a commercial illustrator and designer, before she decided to focus on her fine art, with a debut solo exhibition at GalleryOne in 2009. Her paintings have recently been shown at The Royal College of Art, London and over the last few years at various prominent art fairs, with exhibitions in South East England, London, Guernsey & Portugal; she is listed in current issues of ‘Who’s Who in Art’.
Alison’s work has a growing following and is held in private collections both in the UK and worldwide. Alison enjoys life drawing and is a Golden Artist Educator.
