Artworks - Jane Andrews
Jane Andrews, was born in London and bought up in Surrey, the eldest of four children. An accomplished daydreamer and convent schoolgirl, she attended Saturday morning life drawing classes at Epsom School of Art and was offered a full time place at the age of 15. She built up a successful career as a hair and makeup artist, working on the London Fashion Week shows and with many notable designers, models, actors and musicians.
It wasn’t until Jane reached her thirties that she fully embraced her love of painting attending Farnham Art College for her Fine Art BA. This allowed her the time and space to uncover her distinctive style and she has since continued to develop her themes and shape the style of her large narrative paintings.
Jane has won several awards including the Limner Gallery, New York, Emerging Artist Award in 2001 and the Lukas Painting Prize, the following year. She has exhibited widely and her work can be found in public and private collections in the UK and worldwide including, USA, Italy, France and Germany.
She currently lives in Brighton with her husband Tim, and has a studio in Portslade.
