Artworks - Nick Moran
Nick Moran, based in London, began an interest in steel sculpting following a temporary job in Australia at a steel works company in the early '90s.
Since, Nick has studied and worked as a blacksmith in the UK, winning awards from The Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths for outstanding craftsmanship. He takes influence from his travels, such as a recent trip to Iceland and finds inspiration in antiquity, sculptural icons and shrines.
Though often untitled and abstract, Nick's sculptures embody feelings of movement and expression in their welded forms. In 2010, Nick was commissioned by Duplo International to exhibit a sculpture at the The Tate Modern.
